Maria (Mari) Torres serves as the Training and Curriculum Specialist for Dialogue Across Difference for Washington University in St. Louis. Her prior Wash U experience has been working in the Campus Life office as the Coordinator for Diverse Communities and Group Development. Before WashU, Mari worked at Saint Louis University as the Graduate Learning Community Coordinator in Housing & Residence Life. During graduate school, she also held a summer internship at Brown University’s Pre-College program as an Activities Manager.
Mari holds an MS Ed in College Student Personnel Administration from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She has a BA in Communication Studies with a minor in DEI Studies from Fontbonne University. Mari was introduced to intergroup dialogue while studying at Fontbonne. Outside of work, Mari enjoys reading on her Kindle, walking in Forest Park, and frequently visiting AMC Theaters for new movies. She was born and raised in Kansas City, MO. Mari is a proud Mexican-American and Midwestern Latina.
